The Night Experiment

What a different experience to photograph local football at night with no flash. It was great to see how the 8-year-old cameras went at night. I knew what the limitations were of my old 1DX mark iin, I have no idea with 1D X as I had a few mental breakdowns and shooting at night became rare and the media passes for the Supercross were limited.

Once again I stuck to the 400mm 2.8 for the footy, which I wasn’t sure how it would go at night as I am still building up the strength to control the big lens (a major work in progress).

For the netball, I used the 70-200 2.8

The shots turned out okay, just disappointed with a little noise, but a great experience and opportunity to re-learn my equipment.
